Christopher M. Bearden, M.D., FACS

berghoffChristopher (Chris) M Bearden M.D. is a native of Pinson, Alabama. He holds a biomedical engineering degree from Tulane University and a Medical Doctorate from Louisiana State University. He completed his general surgery internship and residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He also dedicated a year of research in the Indiana University Transplant Immunology Laboratory studying the effects of immunosuppression and viral interactions. He has published multiple papers and spoken at national meetings on his research. He also completed a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery and Renal, Pancreas and Liver Transplantation at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and joined Tower Surgical in 2008. Dr. Bearden is married and has two children.

Honors

Dr. Bearden received the J.K. Berman Award for surgical research in 2003 and the Carl McCaskay Award for Surgical Subspecialty Research from the Indiana Chapter of American College of Surgeons in 2003. He is also a member of the Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Eta Mu Beta, Tau Beta Pi and The Scabbard and Blade honor societies.
